SINNOH STONE IN POKEMON GO! WHAT TO EVOLVE FIRST WITH THE SINNOH STONE!

Bring it to the fourth generation.

Image via Niantic

The Pokémon Go library of available Pokémon is consistently growing as time goes by. What started as a game with only the original pocket monsters has grown to include many of the generations of Pokémon introduced in the games since the early days. With that, there are new ways to evolve your Pokémon.

Sinnoh Stones in Pokémon Go are used for advancing your generation one or two Pokémon into their final forms first introduced during the generation four games, Diamond and Pearl. You can get Sinnoh Stones by defeating Team Go Rocket leaders, completing PvP battles, and completing the seventh day of Field Research. Here are all of the Pokémon you can evolve with that Sinnoh Stone.

For all of the Pokémon below, even if you have a Sinnoh Stone in your item inventory, you will need to gather at least 100 candy for the evolutionary line you are trying to advance. The stone alone will not work. The first name is the Pokémon you give the stone to, with the second name being their evolved form.

Pokemon Go Sinnoh Stone Evolutions List

At the time of writing, there are 18 Pokemon which can be evolved from using a Sinnoh Stone.

You’ll also need 100 Candy in order to evolve the Pokemon. Some are also dependant on having male or female Pokemon so be sure to check your index.

Full details of which Pokemon you can evolve can be found just below:

Theres also a chance of catching a wild Bronzor, Bronzong, Steelix, Magnemite, or Beldum thats holding a Metal Coat. The Sun Stone is another of the new Evolution Items that can be used in conjunction with Pokemon Candy to evolve some of the Gen 1 Pokemon to new Gen 2 evolutions.

Initially there were rumors indicating that Evolution Items were guaranteed rewards for 7-day Pokestop streaks, but that has been discredited. Evolution items are incredibly rare and have less than a 1% chance of being found at Pokestops.

However, as of an app update in late March 2017 you are now guaranteed an Evolution Item for a 7-day Pokestop streak.

Currently, the applicable Pokemon for this item is Gloom, who can evolve into Bellossom using the Sun Stone as well as 100 OddishCandy, or into Vileplume using just candy and Sunkern, who can evolve into Sunflora using the Sun Stone as well as 50 Sunkern Candy.

" Pokemon Go" Sinnoh Stone Evolution Guide

There are a couple of ways to get Dragon Scales, but none are guaranteed.

That means youll want to complete as many of these tasks as possible especially since you can only use it once.

    Field Research

Arguably the easiest method of earning a Dragon Scale, youll want to spin Pokestops wherever possible.

Each offers a 1% chance of an evolution item, including a Dragon Scale.

Youll up your chances by spinning Pokestops for seven days in a row, too!

    Go Battle League Reward

Speaking of PvP, try competing in the Go Battle League for a chance to earn a Dragon Scale as a mystery item.

    What Is A Dragon Scale

A Dragon Scale is an item introduced in Generation II that evolves Seadra into Kingdra when held while being traded. This item cannot be bought, only found, but can be sold for. 1050. In the Johto region games, this item can be found in Mt. Mortar and at the Pokéathlon Dome in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver.

Which Pokemon Can Evolve With Sun Stone

There are two Pokemon that can evolve with the Sun Stone in Pokemon GO. They are Sunkern and Gloom. The easiest Pokemon to evolve with the Sun Stone is Sunkern, as it only requires 50 candies along with the Sun Stone to evolve it into Sunflora. So you have to focus on obtaining that particular Pokemon first. Gloom is a bit more difficult to evolve into Bellossom for a couple of reasons. First, the Bellossom evolution demands you to collect 100 Oddish candies in addition to the Sun Stone. Second, if you are trying to collect all the Pokemon, then youll also need to take into account that it costs 100 Oddish candies to evolve Gloom into its other evolved form, Vileplume. So youll need to decide which Pokemon you want to obtain first, as both require a serious grind for candy. The best way to obtain Oddish and Sunkern candy is to use traditional methods. You can hatch them from eggs and catch them in the wild to obtain candy as fast as possible. It will still take a while for you to earn enough candy to obtain both Bellossom and Vileplume, but the effort should be well worth it if you want to catch all of them.

    • Rhydon Rhyperior Rhyperior evolves from Rhyhorn originally and, since Rhydon is a very powerful ground type Pokemon, is very powerful too.
    • Togetic Togekiss Since Togepi and Togetic are both pretty rare in Pokemon GO, Togekiss is also pretty rare.
    • Porygon2 Porygon-Z As is the case with Togekiss, Porygon is pretty rare, and since getting Porygon2 requires a different evolution item, Porygon-Z will be very rare in the game.
    • Swinub Piloswine Mamoswine Being an ice and rock type Pokemon, it is very powerful.
    • Elekid Electabuzz Electivire Electivire is one of the most powerful Electric Type attacks in Pokemon GO, and certainly the best of the Sinnoh Stone evolutions.

How To Use The Magnetic Lure In Pokemon Go

Sinnoh Stone: Best Pokemon To Evolve In Pokemon Go!

The Magnetic Lure is one of three new types of lure in the game and it works much like a normal lure, with some slight modifications. For 30 minutes, extra Pokemon will be attracted to the lure, but while a normal lure can attract any type of Pokemon, a Magnetic Lure will only attract electric, steel, and rock type pocket monsters.

Its also an evolution item! If youre within the vicinity of a Poke Stop with a Magnetic Lure applied, you can evolve Magneton and Nosepass into Magnezone and Probopass respectively provided you have enough candy, of course. If you dont want to fork out 200 coins for one yourself, you could also wait until the next Pokemon Go Community Day and find someone else whos used one!

How Do Other Sinnoh Pokemon Evolve

Those with good knowledge of the Pokedex may notice that the Pokemon listed here arent all the new evolutions that Sinnoh added. Thats because the other three Pokemon that get new evolutions, Magneton, Eevee, and Nosepass, all evolve into Magnezone, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Probopass respectively having them in range of a specific kind of Lure.

    Powder Snow + Avalanche

This moveset likely represents the highest Ice DPS the game will ever see. Mamoswine’s stats are high enough that it’s useful against Grass, Flying, Ground, and Dragon types. It’s an obvious standout when doubly super effective but shows up as a top counter against specific Groudon movesets, rivaling Kyogre. It trails slightly behind Moltres if attacking Grass-types. Mamo’s drawback is its poor defensive typing, giving it weaknesses that its counterparts don’t have.

Its use as a Rayquaza counter is unrivaled. While Ray may be among the easier bosses to defeat, being the top counter to one of the most useful legendaries in the game is enough alone to put Mamoswine atop this list.

Best Pokemon To Use Sinnoh Stone On In Pokemon Go Roserade

Updated Sinnoh Stone: Best Pokemon To Evolve In Pokemon Go!

Roserade is not just one of the best Pokemon to use your Sinnoh stone on its one of the best Fairy-foils in Pokemon Go at large. Roserade is a Poison-type Pokemon to be reckoned with, and although its Grass-type moves are outshone by legacy Venusaurs its a Pokemon that can be used to great effect if you know what youre doing.

Since the introduction of Fairy-type Pokemon, Poison-typesas well as Steel-typeshave really found their feet in Pokemon battling. Although Roserades Grass-typing isnt the best, its Poison moves are some of the most powerful Fairy-counters in Go at present. Alongside Weavile, Roserade is definitely worth a Sinnoh Stone if youve only got a few to spare. Roselia should take priority over the majority of Pokemon who got new evolutions in Pokemon Gen 4.

Roserade also boasts the top Poison DPS in GO. Poison has less type coverage than Grass, effective against only Fairy and non-Poison Grass-types, but this double role helps Roserade stand out. However, again, it needs weather boost to compete with Meteor Mash Metagross or elite Fire-types in the relevant matchups.

    What Is A Sinnoh Stone

The Sinnoh Stone is the latest addition to Pokémon Gos evolution items. Similar to the others such as the Metal Coat, Kings Rock, Sun Stone, etc. It can be used to evolve specific Pokémon into their generation 4 evolutions. Unlike the other evolution items, the Sinnoh Stone can be used on quite a few different Pokémon. While the others only work on 1 or 2, the Sinnoh Stone can create 18 new evolutions.

How Can You Get Evolution Items In Pokmon Go

Pokémon Go: How to evolve into Pokémons Sinnoh forms ...

Getting evolution items is slightly different than collecting candy. Theyre luck-based drops youll be able to obtain from PokéStop Discs. Considering there are a handful of them and the drop rates of evolution items are lower than other ones, it may take a while to land the evolution item you need.

Theres no way of knowing which evolution item youll get from spinning PokéStops, meaning you should have as many of them as possible while youre out and about so you can have a stack for later.

From time to time, evolution items are also handed out as research quest rewards during special events. These research challenges usually require you to complete certain tasks, and most of them only take a couple of hours to complete.

The prize labeled as Mystery Item in the Go Battle League also has a small chance of being an evolution item, but the drop rates of them for this method are also unknown.

A moon stone will evolve several Pokémon from the National Dex, as well as Clefairy from the Sinnoh Dex:

    • Skitty to Delcatty
